These terms apply to Permit Odds (permitodds.com, "the site"). By using the site you agree to them.
Estimates only, not official, no guarantee
Every number on this site is an unofficial estimate. Nothing on it is a guarantee that you will, or will not, win a permit.
Every percentage on this site is an estimate produced by simulating past lotteries. It is not a prediction of what will happen to your application, and it is not a statement about how the lottery is run. Real outcomes depend on how many people apply in a given year, on quota decisions the Forest Service makes, and on random draw order, none of which this site controls or can see in advance. Past lotteries may not resemble future ones, and the estimates can be wrong, sometimes by a lot. A high estimate does not mean you will win. A low estimate does not mean you will lose.
Use the estimates to compare options. Do not use them to plan travel, book flights or lodging, take time off, or make any other decision that would cost you money if the lottery went the other way. You are responsible for any decision you make using the site.
Not affiliated with any agency
This site is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated on behalf of the United States Forest Service, the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, Recreation.gov, or any government agency. Permits are issued only through Recreation.gov and the Wenatchee River Ranger District. This site cannot apply for, issue, or confirm a permit, and it cannot tell you whether you won.
Facts about the lottery
Dates, fees, and rules on this site are summarized from public Forest Service and Recreation.gov pages and are checked each winter. They can change without this site being updated. If anything here disagrees with Recreation.gov or the Forest Service, they are right and this site is wrong. Report errors to [email protected].
Backcountry safety
The Enchantments are alpine terrain with snow, exposure, and weather that can turn dangerous in any month. Nothing on this site is advice about whether a route or date is safe for you. That judgement is yours.
Use of the site
You may use the site for personal, non-commercial trip planning. You may quote its numbers with a link back. You may not scrape the calculator at high volume, resell its output, or present its estimates as official. The site rate-limits requests and may block abusive traffic. The site may change, pause, or stop at any time without notice.
No warranty
The site and its estimates are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, and availability. The site does not warrant that the estimates are correct, complete, or current.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator of the site is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential loss or damage arising from use of the site, inability to use it, or reliance on its estimates or information, including the cost of travel, reservations, or time off planned around an estimate. The site is free to use.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
Changes
These terms may change. The date at the top reflects the current version, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
